Oceano Campground
Pismo State Beach
Oceano Campground has an abundance of trees and with Oceano Lagoon next door, the campsites have the feel of a forest location. A trail leads around the lagoon, offering wonderful opportunity for bird watching. Other trails lead through the dunes and out to the beach.
Oceano Campground has 42 RV sites with 30 amp electric and water hook-ups, along with another 40 tent or RV sites with no hook-ups. In the campground is an amphitheater and horseshoe pits. There are restrooms and showers. The Oceano Lagoon Trail is nearby.
Near the campground entrance is the Nature Center. Hands-on exhibits help visitors learn more about the local wildlife, plants, and the Chumash culture. Walks led by docents often originate there. Programs for campers and other grounds are given by the docents from the Central Coast State Parks Association.

North Beach Campground
Pismo State Beach
North Beach Campground is located next to Pismo Beach and is within walking distance (0.75 miles via the beach) of Pismo Beach Pier. The campground has restrooms and hot showers (25 cents for a couple of minutes). There is a dump station next to the entrance station and a campfire center along the foot trail to the beach. South of the campground, across Carpenter Creek, is the Monarch Butterfly Grove. Some nights there are programs or movies at the campfire center.
North Beach campground features 103 campsites for tents or RVs up to 36 feet in length. There are no hook-ups.
