For South Carlsbad State Beach, take Exit 45 (Poinsettia Lane) in Carlsbad from Interstate 5. Go west to Carlsbad Boulevard and then south to the beach.

For other Carlsbad beaches, take either Carlsbad Village Drive or Tamarack Avenue (Exit 49) west to Carlsbad Boulevard. From Carlsbad Village Drive (Exit 50), go south to the beach. From Tamarack Avenue, go north.
